The Wild One

It’s Halloween. Why am I blogging? Why aren’t I out Halloweening it up? Why didn’t I Halloween it up the past two weekends? Because that’s how much I care! I am living, eating, and sleeping Penguins for y’all out in internet land.
Now listen, I didn’t ask for this life, and it sure as hell isn’t […]

She sells sea shells

It’s funny. This week the Penguins played three games and won only one of them. I say it’s funny because it’s ruining my life. I have enough mood swings as it is. In the course of a single day I go from standing on a chair with a rope around my neck to dancing with […]

Pens v. Habs

Thursday night the Penguins lost to the Maple Leafs 5-2 after being up 1-0 for two periods. I didn’t watch the game even though I have it on my DVR. I think I have a life, although if you really looked at it, probably not.
The Penguins do face off against the Montreal Canadiens tonight, and […]

The Penguins ran their win streak to 3, beating the offensively challenged Rangers 1-0 Tuesday Night. Evgeni Malkin scored the lone goal on the power play, off assists from Whitney and Crosby.  Marc-Andre Fleury made 36 saves recording his first shutout of the season and his second consecutive solid game.

I worked Tuesday night. I caught […]

Okay, so Malkin didn’t have a multi-goal night, but he had one. One was enough.
Fleury sparkled. Yes, the Penguins need him to be consistent. Last night he was sublime. He could not be beaten. Jaromir Jagr flew around the net and threw a puck in front that hit off of Ryan Whitney’s skate. Looked like […]

Jaromir Jagr and the Ranger are coming to town tonight. New York has struggled early this season. The Rangers do this a lot, they sign big name free agents and remain a middle of the pack team without great depth, and poor chemestry. Wait, does that sentence mean they are without […]

One more Saturday night
The Penguins played one of the grittier, chippier games in recent regular season memory as they with stood Alex Ovechkin and the Capitals, winning 2-1 in D.C.  Bryan Pothier of Washington gave the Caps an early 1-0 lead. Pittsburgh responded with second period goals from Jordan Staal and Ryan Whitney. Stall scored […]

Weekend Fun

What a weekend it was for Pittsburgh Penguins hockey. After a hard fought win over a very good Carolina team, the Pens come back the next night and beat the Capitals, which is customary.
For one thing, when Ben and I sat down to watch the game after a hard night’s work, we both wondered why […]

Last night, the Mellon Arena, the Penguins go down by two goals in the second period.  Wait, back up. The Penguins go down by a goal in the opening minute of the game. Petr Sykora knotted it up at one with a backhand flip of a Crosby rebound.
The Canes got the next two. The Penguins […]

WHY

I worked during the Devils game, but I caught snippets. Apperently the refereeing was questionable. I the I saw the phantom Malkin goal, and another last minute flurry that came up short. Judging from highlights and Rich’s recap of the game (Rich was there in person and I trust his assessment as much as anyone’s), […]
