Neurotica

The Injury Walrus (goo-goo-ga-joob) struck the Penguins once again on Thursday as Marian Hossa, who was in the process of making his Penguins debut, took a hit knee on knee. He’s out for a week. This sucks for many reasons, but mostly because I have tickets to tomorrow’s game and was looking forward to seeing Hossa skate.

Today, as in like, right now, the Penguins face off against the Ottawa Senators. Deja vu? Oh yeah, except the Sens fired their head coach and GM Bryan Murray is back behind the bench. As you all may or may not recall, this is the lisping scum bag that had words with Sidney Crosby last year.

With Hossa out, Armstrong gone, Crosby still out, and Roberts on the side lines, the Penguins need a win today. Need it bad. They lost two back to back games last weekend, beat the Islanders on Tuesday, but fell to the Bruins on Thursday. They’ve lost three out of the last 4, and we cannot keep that trend going.

I’m thinking that the Penguins should’ve traded for Barack Obama. He’s the new Reagan.

Hopefully, this little skid won’t last long and Evgeni Malkin will carry the Pens to victory today.

I just would like to say one more thing about Colby Armstrong. Colby was and is a great dude. I hope beyond hope that he has a great career and Atlanta, or Penguins south, does him well. They will love him down there. He has Mark Recchi to lean on, The Crusher, Chris Thorburn, and no show Penguins defensemen from last year, Joel Kwiatkowski to lean on. He also has Penguins alum John Cullen to show him the ropes as Cullen will, I’m sure.

Godspeed, Mr. Armstrong. Godspeed.
